Hrmm.. I'm still working on mine.. am I taking too long? Am I taking it too seriously? Thinking about it too much?.. It will probably turn out like [bad stuff] anyway, after all this work.. lol

I put mine together in about half an hour. I just let the music flow from the guitar, and that's what it is, that's that. It's all about how you intereperate the music the very first time and how you feel about it that puts emotion into the songs. Hendrix recorded a lot of his songs without rehearsing them once.

Take it easy on yourself. :) All you have to do is go listen to some of my beginner level error riddled entries and you will know that there is no need to worry. Its all for fun anyway.

Hey guys.
Finally I had the time to record my take, I added an organ track as well.
I used my Fender Strat > Line 6 Spider II amp > Laptop.
Tell me what you think.

Wooot.. finally found the lick I have been looking for.. It's light and clean, poppy sound of thing.. The 7th's really through me for a while.. stuck in the rut that I was, I couldn't see how to get the sound and style away from being so bluesy and mellow.. I was trying to get a nice upbeat sound but until today all the little licks I'd found were just too mellow..

Goes something like this.. but yeh.. I don't write tablature so you'll just have to wait till I get a good mix so you can here it.. I'm just excited right now to have finally found something a little different to what I would normally play, which to me is very important with these type of things.

Ok here it is.. this is the first time I've used SoundClick so may be they need to clear my page before this will work.. and I may even be pointing to the wrong page... so if you try the link and it doesn't take you to my page with the music on it, let me know so I can try to fix it..

light487

This take is definitely far from perfect, I could spend easily another week on this to get it just right.. however I want to move on to other things and until I finish something I can't stop thinking about it... so there.. it's done.. as horrible as it is.. :)

That lick sounds pretty cool, but yes... the rest of it could use a bit of improvement. Not that it's "bad" but this is a very slow track and keeping the interest of the listener is tough.

I didn't say it was a bad thing. It's actually cool to have a challenging track.

What do you think of the show so far...? :D

Nick - Great bluesy tone, nice subtle dynamics & smooth expressive playing...
Zoso - interesting intro, great aural assault to finish with!
Seazer - great melodic lead-in, excellent playing after that. The style isn't my cup of tea, but no denying it's good!
Fingers - Good melodic stuff and some interesting licks. Extremes of tone detracted a little but good none the less.
Joey - Wow! That was well different!
Equator - The winner on pictures so far. Nice fluid melodic stuff. The organ was good too & fit well with the lead. Chickened out at 1:50 though ...
Light - Nice opening lick & some good bluesy type phrasing. Perhaps some more dynamic changes would have made it more interesting.

And now the moment you've all been waiting for... time to go and make a cup of tea! :)

Can you play "Far Far Away?"

Yes - how far would you like?

Thanks WrigglerUk.
Yeah, I like the picture too :D , it’s of the Venezuelan actress Catherine Fulop.
I felt like adding the organ to fill the backing track a little bit more.
I tried to play a sweep followed by tapping but I messed up and ended sounding like crap. (That was at the 0:50 mark actually). But I fixed it now and while I was at it, I mix the tracks a little differently.
Thanks again :)

I was just liestening to it again, and I just realized that some of the tracks were lagging, so they sound VERY off beat, listen over again if you want, just to let anyone know who has already listened to it, I have fixed it :)

Thanks!

If you haven't already done so.. time to put your submissions in for this month's solo assignment. Doesn't matter how good you are, or bad your recording equipment is.. just give it a go.. what's the worst that could happen?? We could all laugh at you... but we won't. :p

And don't forget to cast your votes for July's solo. Weslaba's B-day is coming soon, and nothing would make him happier. :D

It's a little late but here's mine;

I just recorded it an hour or so ago, finally got another electric(my other one died on me) and started playing right away ^_^

Hopefully you'll enjoy it, been playing for almost 3 1/2 years now -_-

My personal favorite right now is Seazer's track, that really stood out to me; Excellent playing dude!

I also liked Equator's track, though there were a lot of points at the beginning and whatnot where you sounded out of tune/key, but the sweeping and tapping were all nice, they weren't overdone and I did like your playing, though I still prefer Seazer's track the most ^_^

Havent posted one of these in a while, will work on something tonight - hopefully I'll have some inspiration and get a jam in before the deadline.
