Recently I've been looking into buying another instrument because I've starting drifting a lot more towards heavier rock and metal lately. So, I'd like a thicker sound than what I have.

I am currently playing on an Epiphone Les Paul Custom, and a beat up 2x12 Crate combo amp. I like the Gibson and Epiphone Explorer body style guitars, but I was just wanting to know some of the alternatives. Any suggestions?

Thanks

I do believe every guitar company out there has a guitar suited to metal as well a their own unique looks. Browse though Musiciansfriend.com or google some stuff even. I was on a month or so long search to find my second guitar which is a Schecter C1 Classic and that was well worth any wait. It handels everything from jazz to death metal, though you can say that about most guitars.

That's pretty coincidental, because I literally was just looking at a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR that I am strongly considering now. But yes, I agree with you in that most manufacturers have at least a few models aimed towards heavier stuff. I hope I can narrow it down to what I want. Thanks for the advice.
