I live next to a music shop so I have thousands of picks laying around my house. I say just buy a pick if there is a shop that sells them buy you. picks most of the time cost $.25-$1.25 so their not that price racking. If you play the acoustic guitar you could just play finger style. When I play the guitar I'm travis picking (I kind of finger style) half the time.
