ya I have a Zoom G2.1U as well, its an awesome bit of kit. Perhaps sometimes also if you have the volume all the way up on you guitar, use the pickup closest to the bridge and turn the volume down a bit on your amp you can generate a little bit of distortion as well, might sound a bit more like what you are after.
