Let me put it this way:
I've been playing since 1967.
I have 12 guitars;
7 of the them are Yamahas;
4 of them are Washburns;
1 of them is an Odyssey.
I've owned, and subsequently got rid of, many Fenders and Gibsons.
Bear in mind that my newest guitar was built in the mid-80s.
With that caveat, the only maker that I prefer to Washburn is Yamaha.
'nuff said.

They're pretty good, but you'll wanna replace the pickups. I have a WG-587 I picked up for $200 shipped off Ebay and it plays great but the pickups are pure crap.
