I wasn't even aware that it was out yet. I would love to see it though. Jeez, I need to get out more.

I won't have spelling and grammar nazis ruining threads.

I just got back from the movie and I'd have to say it was a disappointment. I only say it because I know the books front to back and they changed it too much for my taste but all in all a a C. The bright spot was the end battle scene.

Ya, I haven't read any of the new books, so it's all new to me when I see the movie. I guess that would kinda make me like it more, which is a plus in my mind.

I'm scared to go watch it.. I've read all the books, and the Order of the Phoenix is by far my favorite one. I knew theywouldn't be able to fit everything into one movie...

This is true, I did notice they left a conciderable amount out of the Goblet of Fire, and the sad thing was that a lot of the things they left out were really key points. I did really like it overall though.

I liked Goblit of Fire, but I did find that they tried to squish as much as they could from that huge book into one movie...

JK Rowling said everything that was different in the movie from the book was not important enough to keep. So she was fine with the changes.

I was quite upset at the end of the Order of the Pheonix, and at the end of the Half Blood Prince... I just don't think the movie will do them justice...

But I'll go see it anyways...

I just saw this movie last night. I was really disapointed. I didn't read any of the books, but I saw the movies so I was able to follow the basic story line. The thing I didn't like is that nothing was really resolved in the movie. All the others had a problem and solution, but this one didn't. The entire movie was just about how the school was changing because of that lady. Im assuming that was supposed to be more of a secondary plot, the primary being the head bad guy and Harry battling to the death, but we didn't get to see anything of that. The movie was just a setup for another movie basically.

Well the Order of the Pheonix and Half blood Prince weren't the same as the other books... They are gearing up for the last book... The other books had two separate plots... a small plot within the book that would be resolved and then the bigger plot that you were working towards...

I noticed in the Order of the Pheonix that the author was gearing towards the bigger main plot.. This is due to the character maturing and therefore the books are becoming more mature...

The book ended with us feeling like we had someone punch you in the gut.. without any resolution. I didn't expect the movie to be any different.

I just fear that they will leave out key points in the movie that made me enjoy the book... I'm still going to go see it. Its just one of those things that I have to do.

The one thing that was resolved in Order of the Phoenix is that the ministry believes Harry and Dumbledore about Voldemort returning. Not much otherwise though.

One of my friends that went to see the movie with me has read all the books. He said that they left out a LOT of things from the book. Many of them were important things too. The movie is like a Cliffsnotes edition of the books.

My favorite Harry Potter book is the last one I've read, whichever it happens to be. I've always been disappointed with the movies, though, they just never measure up. There is just too much in the books to cram into a 2-hour movie.

I'm STOKED that I'll be getting the last book next Saturday, though!! YIPPEEE!!

Peace,
Tom

Yeah mine is pre-ordered as well. I have already warned Eric that once I get that book, I'm pretty much useless until I'm finished reading it... I read the last one in a day. Didn't do much else though. :o
