Derek... need I say more. :rolleyes: Alright I'll take one for the team and get this argument started off. Hendrix indeed was the greatest guitar god ever. Uhhhh.. Ok so who's going to say SRV was better?

Eliot Fisk is the best classical guitarist I am aware of. As mentioned about the Paganini Caprice No. 5 used in the "Crossroads" movie, Fisk does not only the entire 5th caprice on solo guitar ... he does the entire series of 24 caprices.

You can hear Caprice No. 5 on that page. Fisk is so good it's astonishing.
On electric guitar, very people will ever approach the level of Shawn Lane. Search YouTube.com or google him. Unbelievable technique.

Joe Satriani if I can only have one...
There are loads of amazing players. Mr Schlegel is on to one of them in Shawn Lane... incredible technique. Ritchie Kotzen is a favorite of mine because he's instinctive - doesn't read a note or grasp theory in a conventional sense, but he phrases things beautifully I think.
It's probably the most frequently asked question, and pretty much everyone will give you a different answer. 'Eugene's Trick Bag' (AKA Paganini's Caprice 5) is one of my favorite pieces to play.... especially the descending diminished run down to A near the end....

Are you going to declare who gets your vote? Cheers for the rep bud, but I don't think it counts until you've made some more posts... :)

yup:
green = good
red = bad
grey = thanks dude, but you need to be here a little longer before you score
The grey probably protects us from people coming on just to negative rep people for a laugh more than anything. The number of points you get depends on how many the person giving them to you has....

Ya, I've been thinking about this for awhile. So if you, being a 3 barrer, repped me, would that result in +3? :confused:

The amount of points that you give when you rep someone depends on your own rep count, how many posts you have and how long you have been a member... I have no idea of the formula. So for old timers like Akira and Prsplaya when they rep - they are worth something crazy like 15 points... When i rep its a piddley 1 or 2 points.. lol
Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

I've been here longer than most. I wonder how many points mine are worth. Guess I haven't made too many posts
