what to buy

Played bluegrass for years. Want to learn some 70's rock, southernrock and such. what kind of guitar do I need?

as long as it's got strings you'll be fine... ;)

Seriously, it's whatever floats your boat. Strats and Les Pauls are the obvious choices... I use my Ibanez guitars for whatever I play, others swear by gibson, fender, prs, jackson.... while some swear at them...

Go play a pile of em.... it's nice to have the excuse! use what the players on your favorite records use as a starting point if it helps...
