Marshall makes great stuff, but so do Fender, Vox, H&K, Mesa/Boogie,etc,etc. You really need to make that choice by finding your budget and playing through as many amps as you can. I own a 50W Marshall JCM800 channel switcher w/reverb. It's one of my favorite amps. I also own an old Fender Twin that only sees the studio. I recently purchased a Line6 Flextone II that really does have alot of nice tone to it (although you need about 6 months to figure it out). Each amp has it's own application but their all great!!
