it's decided
frankly i know what i ought to do
at the drop of the rain
i can't help it
stare at the lights that glow so soothely
the people have come and they've gone
and i am still here on my own
unsure,
at the smile of their faces you'll know
who's ready and not
to forgive, to behold
but silence is sleep, and the honks
of the trains, the tick of the time
and the split of the brain,
the sun comes up and i'll know its alright again
maybe tonight i'm divided
perhaps the neighbour
had run out of spleen
i'll catch up again once i'm rested
how happy can one person really be?
the coffee and cigarette makes me wonder
is there anyone that happy today
a need for a bottled fix
a need for a timely peace
but silence means sleep, at the blow
of the wind, the tick of the time
and the split of the mind,
the sun comes up i wish i could start all over again
cheers,
josh
