i can play way up pretty good but on the fast notes i cant strum down up only down or up. i need 2 speed up my picking. any tips

rae you talking abt alternate picking? like in a scale? picking up and down in a scale increases ur versatility greatly...same with strumming...it all takes time and practise

I think you're talking about tremolo picking and really the only way to practice is start off very slowly and build up speed there is no shortcut only practice can make you a speedy picker!

I'd keep alternate picking open strings till I get it. Then try it with fingering and stuff.
