This is a Alice in Chains tune called Would? that I did as an intrumental.
It's got a bit of middle eastern flavoring sprinkled on here and there.

This is the first mix.
How's it sound so far?

I used my Drop B Strat and my Ibanez JS1200CA
Guitars into my Stereo tube pre amp into the computer and then processed with Guitar rig 2

Thanks Mr Ardvark.

It's funny, a guy on another forum is saying that this is not Would? by Alice in chains.

Ya need a bit of imagination on this one. :D

Not really I recognized it at once. I think the guy on the other forum needs to brush up on his AIC

I like it better than the original. I don't have good earphones so it's hard to criticize the mix.
I like the some of the JS though!!

Very nice version of a classic AIC song! Only thing I can criticize on is the mix... there's a bit of clipping in places that sounds kinda nasty through my headphones (Sennheiser HD280 Pro). It's not constant, but it is noticeable. Other than that, everything sounds great. Playing is awesome, and the tones are very nice as well.

Thanks PRS,
Can you give me some times during the playback so I can try and isolate them?
I'll figure out what is doing it and then be able to correct whatever the source is.
I have 26 tracks and not as good of a sound system or headphones as I should have.

Also, hows the bass?
Some people have said that it tubs out on their computer speakers and it does on one of my systems, but it sounds great on my big 18" speaker set. I am going to work on ther bass issue again.

There is some very slight clipping between ~0:54 - 1:13 throughout one of the lead passages... and again at ~1:54 - 2:13 same as before... then starting back at ~2:34 - 2:54. I'm thinking it's just on that particular guitar + setting for the lead in those passages.

The bass sounds fine through my headphones, but I can see where it might sound a bit "tubby" on regular speakers. The bottom end might clear up a little if you back off the fuzz/distortion on some of the tracks that take up the lower regions.

I probably wouldn't have noticed the clipping if I weren't listening on headphones, so I doubt it's all that noticeable. It's a great recording either way.

Thanks PRS, I'll go check it out.

gargy, don't use quicktime, use winamp or some other mp3 player.

If you right click on the link and save the file to your computer, you can play mp3's on any player you want to. If you just click on the link, Quicktime tries to play the file which sucks enven though quicktime may not be the registered player set up to play mp3's on your machine. Not sure how they get away with this but it sucks.

I hate how quicktime keeps altering my windows startup task. Everytime I use quicktime, it adds quicktime task "qttask.exe" to the windows startup menu and I have to go and delete it again so it does not start up automatically in windows..
