I've been messing with open tunings a bit lately. I wanted to try something a little different so I threw the piece of trash acoustic into open A and started plucking away.

This is what I came up with. I titled it "See You When I Sleep" due to the fact that I always get the girls in my dreams at night, then wake up feeling disappointed.

Click on the link below. Still a few rough spots I'm working on, but I got sick of recording it so I settled for this take.

See You When I Sleep
Let your soul shine. Its better than sunshine. Its better than moonshine. Damn sure better than rain.

WOW, this is really good stuff! Nice composition . Technique is , well, way above anything I could ever do -- I wish I could play like this.

The "sprinkling" of harmonics is a very tasteful touch.

Exceeded expectations! (I think that was a school grade from Harry Potter)

I think the best bits were the intro and the end. Well done :)

Thanks fellas. Open tunings are a lot of fun.

RG, a month or so back, I would've thought finger picking was much too difficult for myself also. Once I got over the mind bogglingness of it, its a lot of fun really.

Not gonna lie to you, dude: I liked that a lot. And it's a good thing too, after spending 2309572 hours downloading it.

It was very relaxing. A lot of GT-people songs I'm totally conscious of the whole time, but this one just kinda mellowed me out and sunk into the background, which was cool.

What impresses me earthman is that you started downloading the song 270 years before I even wrote it. :p Glad you liked it though. Thanks for giving it a listen.

Hey mate, greetings from Australia. That's a nice little ditty you have there. I've loved the acoustic ever since that one number on Frampton Comes Alive back in the 70's. Your song also has that cheerful vibe (albeit a much more peaceful and ambient tune). Nice playing.

Hey if you're interested please check out my acoustic song

DADGAD Journey 01

I'd love to hear your comment - my stuff is not structured in any way so please go there with an open mind...

Howdy. Thanks for listening and commenting.

I listened to your song also. Your technical ability is obviously quite better than my own. But imo, you already identified your problem. Lacks structure. Such things can be tedious to listen to imo.

But hey, if thats the way you like to play then all the power to ya. I prefer some structure to a song though so its easier to digest.

Nice playing though. You've obviously got skill.

Yeah I certainly don't expect my improvisations to be foot-tappers and hum-alongs. Thanks for having a listen and for the critique of my playing on this piece. I'll let you know when I post something structured - might be a bit more to your liking. Thanks Again.
