I used to shoot my volume knob at Luke or Mike at random times during our songs by sticking my pick underneath and just kinda popping it. Eventually the little grip things wore out and it would fall off when I didn't want it to.

Right now it's being held on with a tiny little ball of Silly Putty. Problem solved.
