Take a gander of me busting out some Sublime on youtube.

i havent listened to it yet, but let me remind you that i played in a sublime cover band, and this is ultimately one of my favorite guitar solos of all time.

yea, that was solid, bro. but you got to remember to throw in more off-beat note runs when doing the reggae/ska thing. its all about the phrasing.

it was good though, f'shao.

Smooth playing man :) Although I get the feeling you don't bend quite high enough on some of those bends.

edit: Oh yeah and the original song had a shuffle drum beat, whereas yours is straight 8ths, which changes the feel a lot.
Miracle Blade 4: Gibs on touch.

Are you talking about my Pink Floyd cover or the Santeria one?

I think I understand, but maybe not. Is it my lack of rests which makes it too fluid? I did the same thing when I played trumpet lol!

Was talking about the santeria one.

A shuffle beat is where the 8th notes are swung. Listen to the difference:

Straight 8ths

swung 8ths/shuffle
Miracle Blade 4: Gibs on touch.

I hear the difference. How should that affect my playing though?

Just as the beats are swung on the drum track, your notes will be swung too. I was just saying that the backing track that you played on wasn't swung, unlike the original version, which gives a bit of a less groovy feel.
