This is very much a noob question... :o It's probably about time I restrung my guitar, but I'm not sure which strings to buy... on my old Strat copy, I used Yamaha EN09s (very light), but the Eclipse that I have now came with heavier-gauge strings (I'm not sure exactly what), and now that I'm used to them, I don't want to go back to lighter strings. Basically, I'd like a string that's good for a fixed-bridge 24 fret guitar, is suitable for standard and Eb-standard tunings, is good for bending and vibrato and works well with a dark, thick tone... any suggestions?

Cheers for putting up with my noobish ignorance.

Based on my personal experience, I would suggest you try out some D'Addario strings, in a 10 gauge. You might like them, and you might hate them, but I like them... a lot. I also really like using the 10-52 gauge strings, since I tend to play really hard. YMMV though
