Glad to be back! *Sniffs air*

Anyway, finally got some money and decided to get me a new amp. I need something small, so I came up with these two...Tell me which one ya think

1. A thirty watt marshall combo. Digi effects

2. A 15 watt Marshall Micro Stack with reverb. I played one once, and from what I remember, I liked the sound.

And can anyone answer me this, kind of a dumb question, but I don't deal with stacks too much. If the head is 15w, then about how loud does the whole thing sound?

I have a marshall 50dfx. It's a nice amp, but I had to upgrade after not too long. If you are playing in a band, or want to, it wont end up being loud enough in my opinion. How long have you been playing? Because for me, it was the perfect transition from my 15 watt peavey to my fender deville (which I adore) It sounds very good for the price, but you probably want to stay away from the built in distortion if you end up buying it.

Both of these amps will have the same sound and effets etc personaly i would go with the mg30dfx, or if you could afford a little more the mg50dfx becuse there are alot of features on it that aren't on the 30w one.

In that price range, I'd go for the >Line 6 Spider III<. You will be getting much more for your money than you would be with the Marshalls.

I bought a Spider III 75 watt and returned it 2 weeks later. It is quite versatile, but at the expense of any real tone. It had a distinct digital noise when played through. Bottom line: not impressed!

Yeah, the Vox Valvetronix range are generally considered better the Spiders.

Good Point. I always seem to forget about the Vox line of amps (other than their tube amps). I've also heard great things about the Roland Cube amps, and the Tech 21 Trademark 60, with the Tech 21 being the most revered among the tube enthusiast.

They're not for everybody, but some people swear by them.... YMMV as usual, since we all have different tastes in tone.

I mean, although the stack is like 15w, hey, if you've played an outside gig with a microcube...(not running through anything) 15w is LOUD
