Hi Team.

I'm trying to work up some home recording on my various guitars and the problem that recurs is that I choke after a chjorus or two...

This doesn't happen when I play 'live'.. it seems top be the recording setup or concept..

Anyone else have this problem & how do you lick it?

wait, by "choke" do you mean your vocals just choke or you choke on your guitar playing? or both?

I mean, I have the vocal problem sometimes, where I get way into the song, then forget what Im singing and what comes next so I freak out for a second and screw up. I guess just thorough memorization can fix that.

if you start getting way into your vocals and are forgetting what you're playing on guitar, well...same thing applies. drill it constantly.

...My guitar playing ( Idon't sing)...the imagination just seems to shut down..my theory is that it's because I'm thinking about other things in the process.

I'm hoping it'll settle in tyime with practice...

we'll see I guess.

You just gotta concentrate on your timing really. It's something I have isssues with because I'm more worried about the changes I have to make. As long as you can keep the rythm up you should do fine. I'd recommend turning the click track on in your recording software or working out the drums first.

I've seen this hapen alot when I record someone. It's like they know the recorder is on and kinda freak out and over think. What I do is roll recording w/o telling them I've started. Sometimes this works. Of course it's kinda hard to do that trick to yourself.

I recommend you record everything. Don't make it "Special" to record. This way you'll soon get over this problem. Not to mention the fact of all the "GEMS" you'll get by recording each take.

It will settle in with time and practice. I would agree with always record.
