[font=tahoma]hey everyone, i just found this site today, so far it's already helped me. I'm new to playing guitar(acoustic), i was a drummer for 6 years before this, but that won't help me. :)

you're right, drumming exp. helps, i guess to a degree.

thanks for the welcome, the only snag i've hit so far is reading tabs.. I understand them, but i guess i'm just not sure.. weither or not to pick each note individually or what.. which may sound like a stupid question, but i don't understand.

Hey welcome.

In tabs, if all the numbers in the same row like this:

-----------------------------
-------7---------------------
-------7---------------------
-------7---------------------
-------5---------------------
-----------------------------

then you hold them all at the same time at strum them all at the same time.

If it is like this:

-----------------------------
-----------------------------
-------7------5--------------
-----------------------------
-----------------------------
-----------------------------

Then you pluck the 7 indivudially, then the 5 after that.

I have been on this site about a month maybe two. I am also pretty new to the guitar. About 18 Months. I have not had one negative response to any of my simple or ridiculous questions. These guys are very patient and just waiting to help. Anwyay welcome to the site!
