DON'T DO IT !!!!
My best advice for you is to join or hang out with an already established or successful band and take mental notes of what it is that makes that band work so well. It takes so many different personalities to make a band work, some people have to be leaders, others followers, some creative, others business minded, someone has to be tech and gear oriented, someone else at art and promotion & so on...each person has to bring there own thing to the table in order for the project to get past the develoment stages, and all must be driven and goal oriented. Oh, did I forget to mention, being good musicians doesn't hurt either.

Well, basically if you're thinking of starting a band, then tha means that you have confidence, and simply more than basic knowledge. Don't let anyone else tell you if you're not ready or exactly how you should go about this, because you never know when the right opportunities will come your way. Or the right people for that matter.

Basically, you should get together with a bunch of friends, those who share your ideas, and your killer instinct to survive in the fickle world of rock n roll. Basically, starting a band, it's not all about wanting to be famouds, it's about wanting to take yourself to the next level musically. It's all about wanting to take your music closer to reality, and to share important ideas with those who are willing to share and most importantly listen

If I had a fool proof method in finding the right musicians to help you through this, I would tell you in a flash. But the truth is you never know. All you can do is keep and open mind, and search the globe for the right people, the right group of friends who think very similar to the way you do.

Otherwise you'll be wasting your time.

I some what agree with every one in a way .
But i lean more to Chris Mood's way of startng out.
The only thing i could add, is this has to,
work like a Football team, plus the most,
important thing is getting your band all,
to think alot like you plus get along well togather.
That is if you want a good band.

I reckon the trick is t find people who youve known for a long time and who've been playing for a long time, tho this is harder than it sounds. We managed it tho...
