Is it really that difficult to distinguish the difference between a guitar tab and guitar chords when one puts it up on a web site? No... no it isn't. Apparently some people think it is hard... in fact a lot. I've just been looking up, well trying, some Grateful Dead tabs for the hell of it. I keep on getting the chords. Sooo now I'm just going to have to not be lazy and figure out the **** myself. It won't be that hard, but I don't like putting forth effort.... I mean really.

That is all.

I find it's better to work things out for yourself anyway. I don't think I've looked up chords or tab for anything for over a year now.

There are no accurate tabs for The Dead because they play every song different every time. :D

yeah, Grateful Dead songs are pretty hard to tab because of the fact they're a jam band. its usually easiest to just do chords. so at least see the other side of it.

but they SHOULD be saying they are "chords" not "tabs", that annoys me too. alot.

How many Deadheads does it take screw in a light bulb??

They don't change it, they just wait til it burns out and follow it for 20 years...

Once you take into account the fact that most of the posters can't even get the chords right, it really doesn't matter what the posts are described as...

The stuff on www.powertabs.net is usually pretty good, but if you're going to play any piece by another artist, you'll almost always have to do some work yourself.... even if it's only a couple of wrong notes. Julian is right - working stuff out yourself is more rewarding, helps you learn and develops your musical ear.

Also useful when you start improvising material that you then need to transcribe from a recording....

Point taken though.... the 'net is awash with ultimateguitar types...

Meh. My vote is cast for pop a cap in a ho.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.
