This is the part i cant play, its being played using hybrid picking, but i dont how to place the fingers of my left
hand in order to play it fast like Stevie did
any ideas, i use my index to fret the two notes on the 12th fret but i cant move my fingers fast enough to bring the index to the E string 12th fret and the ring finger to the G string 14th fret for the bend... is that how Stevie did it?

BluesShredder(Mary had a little lamb)
Ok i checked the tune out and he's useing rakeing, bends,
hammer-on double stops plus useing his old claw style,
finger-style= useing the index finger for a partial bar,
in a locked position covering 1st 2th 3rd stings 11th,
fret Eb=his tuning.
Right Hand Claw style below:
Ok now you do the same in standard tuning using KEY=E
Only while holding the locked position use your pick,
for G string then third finger for high E string.
then try squeezeing the 2 strings to gather at the same time this is an old claw style which alot of old jazz,
players used years ago.
Anyway while useing the claw finger style useing your,
locked position squeeze G and E string for one beat,
then use your third finger on the G string at 14th fret,
one beat,G string at 15th fret one beat,G string 14th fret,
then your back to locked position for last beat.
Repeat this fast and you got it.
Hope this helps or is what you wanted?

Mark

P:S I need to write this out in tab ,oh well!
i used this style in 1963.wow along time ago!

BluesShredder

I'd really like to thank you for making me dig out,
all my srv songs.
I'm going to study him again and so far it's a,
real trip playing these old tunes plus working them,
out.
You gave me a great idea i have about 4 0r 5 of my,
students wanting to play blues.
So i'm going to add some of his tunes to thier lessons.
Thanks
Mark
P:S Anytime i can help some one with one little thing,
that really makes my day.
I first did that lick from an old jazz song called,
(Cry me a River) sang by Julie London years ago.
you owe me now ha ha ....................have fun!

SRV played tin pan ally on some live shows plus other cd's ,
the one i thought was his best improv was on,
a cd-ect called the beginning.
Which i only have 50% of it on an mp3 recording.
I hear alot of bb-king style plus other's in it.
I would recemend just taking the licks you like,
by hear from it then useing them in your style ect.
But if i ever get the time i ' will write some tab,
for some of the licks.

Mark
