Hey Grizz, check out the Marshall MG100DFX - very reasonable price and it has a nice solid state tone. You can go from shred to jazz with everyhting in between including blues and best of all it won't break the bank. If you have good technique and a nice guitar you will get a very nice tone for the money. I have one and still use it alongside my Mesa rig and Prophesy. BTW the MG100DFX is the amp version, not the head and cab combo. I've read online people complaining because they are the cheap end of the Marshall line but that just pure snobbery if you ask me, the tone kicks ass. Sure a TSL100 will sound better, but at four times the price.
You can find them in just about any guitar shop, pair one up with an Ibanez Tube Screamer and you should have all you will ever need;-)
