Hey here is my latest track, recently I've been getting bored of making tunes which are basically jam tracks for me to solo over. This is a track is many guitar parts that I have sampled myself and then put together to make an ambient sort of piece.

It's called 'Focus' and you can get it from here:

www.purevolume.com/julianvickers

I recommend you download it and listen to it with headphones because some of the sounds are quite sutble and don't turn out that well on the purevolume player. :)

thanks!

That was really cool sounding...strange, ghostly...and the 3/4 part was scary  but you calmed it down at the end :) .....I love ambient stuff....Tangerine Dream is my favorite...your stuff reminds me of them.

I thought your work was so good!

I'm bored by 99% of guitar forums, as everyone seems talentless. That isnt true here!!!

I'm excited! :D

Thanks man! be sure to post your own stuff too :)

Tangerine Dream is awesome yeah. My inspiration to do an ambient piece came from listening to Aphex Twin

Man, this is awesome. I love it how you pan the delay back and forth between the speakers. Sounds awesome on headphones. Very cool. I enjoyed it.

Nicely done. This type of music is hard to do well but you did it. Like the tension it builds then the release at the end. Very cool. Good use of effects without over doing.

That was soothing Julian :)

It all worked perfectly well i think. Nothing overly done with the effects etc.

Nice to hear something different for a change.

Great work and keep it up ;)

Cool stuff, very ethereal. I liked the voicings, great sound you managed to get. I like experimental stuff but find it hard to find, this was quite a trippy piece;-) Good job, had me listening right through to the end. What effects did you have in the signal chain? THought I heard a harmonizer/pitch shifter in there somewhere.

For the 'lead' i was using a pitch shifter and some delay.

the whole thing was just one chord progression:

Em7 Em7/C Bm7 Am7
