This, this (amazing!), and this are examples of the kind of bass solos I like best. I prefer a more rhythmic approach - the bass, after all, is a rhythm instrument. Like Aschleman said, Cliff played the bass like a guitar when he soloed... but on the other hand, he played some absolutely rock-solid bass lines, which for me are the most memorable part of his playing.
