I was too afraid to bring that up in a thread full of Metallica fans (so I waited until you did, Quickfingers, then jumped on the bandwagon! :p), but I wholeheartedly agree. I don't see Metallica as being in the same league as Megadeth in terms of consistent songwriting. Even when Megadeth, like Metallica, strayed far from their roots (Risk), they did it well.
