This photo released by NASA Thursday, March 1, 2007, shows an image of the planet Saturn obtained with the Cassini spacecraft wide-angle camera on Jan. 19, 2007, as the planet's shadow stretches completely across the rings. The view is a mosaic of 36 images taken over the course of about 2.5 hours, as Cassini scanned across the entire main ring system. (AP Photo/NASA, JPL)

Hell yeah man. Cassini has gotten some beautiful pics. I also like this one taken from inside Saturn's shadow:

On its way to Saturn, Cassini also got some awesome pics of Jupiter too. This has been linked to many times, but for those who haven't seen it, NASA's pic of the day has just about any space pic you could want. In addition to Cassini, I also like the SOHO satellite pics of our sun...coronal mass ejections are killer.

Here's one Cassini took of Earth from Saturn. From there we look like any other "insignificant" speck in the sky.

Interesting. And now that you mention it, that reminds me that Earth is visible as a dot in the pic I posted as well just above the main rings on the left side. I didn't even bother reading the caption upon linking to it today...but now I remember that from the first time I saw it.

Read "Pale Blue Dot" by Carl Sagan if you ever get the chance. I thought it was profound myself.

Northern Lights, Have you ever seen it in person? If you live in a city, most likely not.. here in ND, I've seen it atleast 3 times.

Edit: I would call it by the real name, but I don't know how to spell it :p

aurora borealis, there we go.

Wow good stuff. I love the perspective it puts on our place in the universe. Although I can understand it, it's hard to believe people once thought earth was the center of the universe!
