Hey guys, I was hoping you could maybe hook me up with some sites that explain intermediate to advanced theory? I think that most of the theory I know has been through books and various programs, but I just want to know what else is out there. I'm almost done with keys and scales, diatonic harmony, chord theory, and the general body of music theory, i.e. enharmonics, modulation, ect. Theory's a never ending thing, and I figure I want to decide if I can study the complex things now, instead of studying it in college. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

You might try and contact students who are studying at the advanced level and ask them what text books they are using. Also a quick trip to the local library should prove fruitful. I don't know of any web sites that are geared for advanced theory.

I'm not sure what theory would be listed as advanced. Maybe check out books like this - grade 8 will be as far as it goes, so it must cover advanced stuff...

Next is putting all of that stuff in practice, applying it - voice leading & counterpoint.

This site will give you a great intro to using all those concepts you mentioned. And why they even exist in the first place.

This site is quite literally advanced music theory.
