Hello everyone,

I'm new to thise site, stumbled upon in some random searches and thought I'd join.

Anywho,

Some background.

I started out as a bass player 8 years ago and 4 years ago started playing guitar (play both actively).

Currently for practice I use either my peavey bandit 112 or a gorilla 50. For gigs I use my bass set up which consists of 2 Avatar B410 Neo's 8 ohm (I turn the tweets off), powered by a carvin hd 1800 (4 ohm bridged, 1800 watts) and I bought a Carvin sx 300r 3 channel pre-amp to rack along w/ the amp and my tech 21 sans amp bass pre amp. I don't use all 1800 watts, just there for head room. The tone I get is very clear and presice, but I want a true guitar rig.

I'm faced with the oppertunity to pick up a Traynor rig which consists of a TS 120 head, and a TS 98 cab (9x8's).

I was able to briefly find some ball park info about the head in a harmony central review, and I can't find any info on it on the Yorkville site. I also cannot find any info about the cab anywhere.

I know the head is a single channel, 200 watts and has an 8" speaker built into the head as well.

Other then that I can't find any info.

Does anyone out there have any info, or a resource to where I may find info. I'd be greatly appreciative.

BTW, for the head and cab I'll be paying $500, is that fair? A good deal?

Thanks a ton.

Peace
-Ben

I tried it out at the store its so sick it's by far the most versatile amp I've herd, it has three true channels with mostly the same controls and all have separate Eq's.It's awesome because you can put it on a 30 watt setting for home or 100 watt for live. Also you can get a good distortion tone at low volume and it's versatile too, it can be vintage or old school metal or modern metal, or nice and clean.

It's a nice tube amp I will be buying it.

From what I found the TS-98 is a 150 Watt head that has 9 eight inch speakers.... yeah... that's what I said...... 9 eight inch speakers. I'm not even sure what to make of that. haha. I've never heard of a speaker cab configured like that. Something different I suppose.

Traynor makes great products.. I would see if you can't try it out and see how it sounds first before you pony up the dough.
