Maybe the Squire Tele I got for under 200. It had been in the shop long enough to have grown hair around the tuners, so I made them a ridiculous offer of 165. It also didn't hurt that it is this butt-ugly charcoal metallic color.
I played about 10 of these and found a wide range in the way they felt.

The one I picked out had a relatively nice neck and a decent humbucker,it makes a nice companion to the PRS Santana SE I got. I put .10 strings on it, and it works great for open tuning slide stuff or just playing "chopper" style rhythm lilcks.
Back in the 70's I bought a Takamine 12 string acoustic from a hippie out on Telegraph ave. That was also a very good buy. I'm sorry as hell I sold it.
