Alrighty. Enough is enough. I'm no longer living up to my user name, "Grizzlymint". I decided tonight, enough is enough. I'm broke, it can kill you, girls don't like, its just a plain dirty habit. So I'm quitting chewing. (Grizzly is a chewing tobacco brand and mint was my flavor of preference in case you didn't know.) Already dumped my cans in the garbage so I can't pick them out and tossed all my spitters. No more spilling them. No more waking up with cotton mouth.

This is gonna be fun....

Yes indeed. I'm glad I dumped it in the garbage, as opposed to just throwing the cans in, or else I would've garbage picked by now.

Good for you!!! Being from Nova Scotia we don't have many chewers up here. Actually I haven't seen chewing tobacco before in my life, other than in pictures.

I smoked cigarettes for awhile, but I quit when the bluejays won the world series back in 1992.

So hang in there, if its anything like the addiction of smoking, its tough to quit.. but it does get a lot easier day by day. Just work on one day at a time.
Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

Good for you man. I used to switch back and forth between smoking and chewing before I gave nicotine up all together a few years back. There were a few bumps on the road, but not a day goes by that I'm sorry I quit.

I love guys that chew. I find it a turn on.

I'm brain dead, I can't even think of a creative way to be sarcastic.

Good for you. I've never quit any bad habits in my life... good ones on the other hand... like you know exercise... not a problem.

I would've said "Way to snuff out your habit." But then, that's not really sarcasm. Just genius.

I come from a family of blue collar men... Even though I'm white collar... I was born and raised to be blue collar... My first job was working on a farm when I was 14 years old... bailing hay and all that. But both my older brothers and my father have chewed pretty much their whole lives... Both my older brothers started when they were in 8th grade... My dad when he was in high school. My dad quits cold turkey for years at a time and then just starts chewing again... Right now he's in "chewing mode"... I, however, never started chewing... I've never even had the stuff in my mouth... Being around it all my life and having to very persuasive older brothers.... it's a miracle I haven't started... But then again, I've always known that the girls don't like it too much. haha

Good for you for making the decision though. Get a lot of packs of gum. haha

Good job Grizz, it must be really hard to do. Hang in there, it'll be worth it.

I'm starting to think its more habitual than an addiction. I always want one after I eat cuz thats usually when I'd put one in. Or driving most definitely. And playing guitar. So I'm betting that has a lot to do with it.

Yea, look for your triggers and try to avoid them. I promise after time goes by you lose the craving completely.

I tried chewing once. Me and Luke were going to see Pearl Jam with his sister-in-law, and she apparently had promised him that he could try some. I swallowed it. Yep.

I actually liked it though. If not for the whole cancer thing, and the fact it costs money, I probably would take it up.
You go outside and practice screaming. We'll play music while you're gone.
