Squier Strat Pack
just brand new to the guitar. as in brand new, researching everything on line and in books etc...want to get geared up here. opinions on the starter kit from squier please. Thanks in advance.

I've still got one... I don't play it very often anymore, but it's a decent guitar.
On the packs - I believe that it's an 'affinity series' squire... if I'm right then they're not quite so good - OK, but not great.
If your budget can stretch to it, check out a squire standard strat. Also, you'll probably find you can buy other amps for the same money, so it's worth looking around.
The startup 'everything in a box' packs are popular though, so they must be OK for starting out... :cool:

i started with a cheap strat rippoff like that, and i rad that thing to the ground...probably got more use out of it than 99.5% of the people that owned it. haha. honestly, its not a regrettable desicion to pick one up, and you can get plenty of use out of it...hell, i played TONS of shows with mine. i was in punk bands and whatnot, but i mean....they work, so why not?
