Hunter S. Thompson. Famed father of Gonzo journalism. Political reporter for Rolling Stone magazine in the mid-70's. Notorious for his ability to ingest copious amounts of illegal substances and drink. Wrote many hilarious magazine articles and books. Worth reading. :D

but it still enrages me every goddamn day when i see CNN with some kindof special on her....who cares? its probably been said by everyone here already, but honestly. who the f**k cares. she had an empty shell of an intellect and she wasnt easy on the eyes.

is there any reason people still want to talk about this woman for?

Sure. It's tawdry. It's a scandal. We Americans glom onto celebrities, or psuedo-celebrities like her, because unlike our British cousins, have no royalty to watch and in some rare and weird cases, envy. Anna Nicole was a basket case much like Britney and Paris and Nicole and Mel Gibson and Michael Richards....and the list goes on and on and on. We love to watch them implode and in our own morbid sense, love to watch what happens in their wake even after they're gone.

It gives us a chance to see those we percieve, even if we don't want to admit it, even to ourselves, as being better than us, fall apart. It's vindication.

Plus, there are some photos of her back in the day when she was hot. :D

I didn't see it but I heard it on the radio several times today. Lord only knows. Geez. I think he was sad because his day in the sun was over. I mean, look what happened during the OJ trial. Judge Ito became a household name. Weird business this thing we call show biz.

Should be. There should be additional categories for Oscar's

Political scandal: Former Senator Dan Sutton and the scandal with the 18 year old page.

Oddest action by a former hero: Astronaut Lisa Nowack and the cross country trip in a diaper to kill a romantic rival

Best celebrity meltdown: Michael Richards showing his true 'color''s at a comedy club.

1st runner up: Mel Gibson and his anti-semtic, drunken, idiot rant

2nd runner up: Britney Spears and the enchanted sheers

This list could go on and on and on and ...

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

People should not care about this stuff as much as they do. They should like....be productive or something.

Yes, you're right. People shouldn't care about this stuff like they do. But they do and as long as they do, this stuff will still be making the news and making people talk.

I quit trying to understand people a long time ago. You end up with nothing but a headache and no more understanding.
