This should give some of you guys a laugh - click

Overnight in the UK we've had about 2 inches of snow. As a result public transport is a mess - trains and flights cancelled or delayed. Loads of people are having the day off work. We're being told not to travel unless it's absolutely necessary.

It's amazing how little it takes for things to fall apart over here. For full on comedy, explain to me how snow causes the London UNDERGROUND to suspend lines... :D

Maybe the underground operators can't make it in to work to run the trains? 2 inches of snow? Wow. We just call that 'flurries' around here. It's not a 'snow' until you get 6 inches on the ground.

I know... it's not even cold out. None of the cars have moved - I think the nation has just stayed in bed...

How we ever had an empire..... I guess emphasis on 'had'...

We get snow here all the time.. but the first snow of the season.. it doesn't matter how small it is, it messes up everything royally. I dread the first snowfall, but once you get that out of the way - it's all good.

And I remember when we laughed at Toronto a few years back when they got a pretty good snowfall and they called in the guard... then we got 90+cm and that shut us up for awhile.. ha ha
Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

Well, at least you 'had' an empire. We Yanks have never had an empire per se, we're just a bunch of upstarts who have managed to screw up lots and lots of stuff... :)

Some might argue we're building a nice empire now.

Ha...two inches.

We have a 1 1/2+ feet, plus the crazy wind blowing all over the place and up your wazoo.
For life is quite absurd and death's the final word, You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

All the schools here closed yesterday... and stayed closed today even though it hasn't snowed anymore. We now have a 'severe weather warning' for ice and fog!

Why is it that people today need to be told to watch out for ice? muppets...

What might be empire building to some could be construed as a failed foreign policy to someone else.

that's weird.
I've got those widget things on my computer with London, L.A. and Canada cams on em & it's really weird to see England at night with snow, L.A. and a sunny beach in the morning and Canada with a dull hwy 400 on the same page.
L.A. looks so nice and warm.
