I gotta submit a 5 minute showcase of demo tunes I wrote to a publishing house in L.A. & I got two versions & can't decide which one to send:
Showcase #1
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/mp3/SchmangeShowReel1.mp3
or
Showcase #2
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/mp3/SchmangeShowReel2.mp3
.... any help appreciated.......
I totally trust youz guys judgement and hope you pick the right choice.
Keep in mind these would be used in advertisements and moviehouses for previews.... not to mention it''l be worth money in royalties.
The demo versions of all the tunes are located here if ya need em:

when you post a new thread scroll down past where you type and you will see it asks if you want a poll included.

After listening to both showcases once (that's usually the all you get, one shot at it), the 1st showcase kept my attention much more than the 2nd.
In my honest opinion, I would remove the segment in the 1st showcase with the woman's vocals. It just seemed to break the flow you have going throughout the rest of genre. It sounds awesome, I also liked the War Siren bit in your 2nd showcase, it sounded like it should be in the 1st one.
Great job, Good luck with the Royalties.

I choose 1 as well.
I also put the poll up for ya. For future reference it's in the thread tools tab. You can edit the poll to your liking.

I voted for 1 as well. I found the some parts of the second showcase too overpowering for ads. The first one definately much better imo as accent pieces.
Great works are performed, not by strength, but by perseverance.

I've always enjoyed the electronic components to your music. Therefore I had to go with showcase 2. I recognized some tracks off of your PhaseIV Chronicles album as well as the much hallowed moog boog! I found showcase 2 to be flat-out more sonically engaging. Good work on both though, and best of luck to ya brah!

Thanks muchly dudes.
...the good news... I got signed by 3 publishers & already received my first royalties. yay..
One of em's doing a custom release of Guitar loops and another has signed about 30 tunes for their CD releases. yay again...
I'm also signed to a publisher for major movie releases so we'll see how that pans out. :)

Yeah, ya might be right. I included it cause it's one of them songs that just gets to me. Yah know.... she took a song I'd written previously and wrote totally new lyrics to it and totally blew me away with it.
Here's the original with my totally fake French and out of tune singing:
http://s93744050.onlinehome.us/jamais_Schmange_320.mp3
And her redone version that totally blows me away, even though she did it over the internet from L.A. using a crappy microphone.... hence the reason I had to add the 'rain' sound effects in the background. Plus she's only 16 years old which totally blows me away.

What can I say... her version brings tears to my eyes every time.

Congrats Man! I knew you would get something. I'll have to listen to the tracks later. At work now....This is frowned on here :(

It's usually best to go with your gut. She has a great pitch.
I kinda liked your fake French vocals version as well.
Kudos on getting signed. They both sounded excellent. What version did they choose (Or both)?
I read in another post of yours, something about freezing to death and wanting to move to Calif. It's nice and warm here and LA's a packed house!!!!!
If you do, from those Royalties and all, contact me. I was a descent sized Studio Contractor in the 90's. Did projects such as Record Plant, Royaltone Studios and Edmonds Entertainment Plaza to name a few.
Sad, but it's all "who you know" out here.
Congrats!!!!!

Hmmm...apparently didn't catch this thread initially.
But in case you're still looking for input, I liked both really. Couldn't go wrong. I think the 1st one had a little greater variety (imo), while the 2nd one flowed together well. In the end I'd agree with the 1st one, just because since it's a pitch, I'd guess you'd want them to see your versatility.
