I'm laid up at home, so thought I'd finally post something in this section. This was recorded at the end of last year:

Subtle it's not, but I like this kind of stuff... it's good to shred... although I know it's not everyone's bag... :D

Brace yourselves...

Thought that was really good. Liked the tone and the shred was used correctly in my opinion. It wasn't endless, mindless shredding over the entire song. The only thing was the recording wasn't the best. Sounded like it was clipping a bit.

That was awesome! I really enjoyed that. Very well written. The different transitions really kept me interested. Was it just me, or does the time signature go back and forth from 4/4 to 7/8 in the verse? I look forward to hearing more from you! Keep it up!

Sweet. Agree the tone was killer. Nice flow. I can't really find fault. What did you use for the drums?

Laid up eh? Hope yer alright, or at least get better.
Nice track though dude! Of course I liked the nylon guitar. But all of it was well done. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the feedback all...

I was trying to make myself write something in 5/4, just for the sake of it. I hate 5/4, and ended up twisting what I already had to fit a more familiar time signature, so yeah it works out to alternating 4/4 & 7/8. I didn't really plan alot of it though - the core melody and some of the runs are planned, but alot of it is improvised, then transcribed after if I'm going to perform it.

On the drums, some of it is an actual drummer, and the rest is reason. I used a JEM through an old soldano preamp, plus a tube screamer and morley wah. And Rustee, the classical was just for you... ;)

It's nice to finally be able to share some of my handiwork with you all...

Hey Ren, great work. Cool to see that the technical ability matches the knowledge. Some really nice shred licks in there, some of the sweeps reminded me of Jiboom by Vai. Nice hooks and melodic progression and yeah, the time sig keeps things interesting too. Good job!!
