I've got the 6-band MXR EQ, and love it. However, I would suggest the 10-band MXR EQ since it has the volume controls. The 6-band doesn't, and can overdrive your amp and boost your volume (depending on your settings). Ideally, I would suggest a 6-band in front of your amp, and the 10-band in your amps effects loop. Your tone options are pretty much endless then :cool:
