With so many of the bands from that era starting a "battle of the Monster Ballads" so to speak, a few gems came from the competition.
Like the arpeggios George Lynch played in Dokken's "Alone Again". Even in a ballad, Lynch really is "Mr. Scary".
Or Reb Beech ripping and Winger's vocals in "Headed for a Heartbreak" and the inspirational bands with the motivational (Survivor "Eye of the Tiger" style) songs, like Joey Tempest's vocals in Europe's "The Final Countdown".
And who can forget the incredible talents of Vito Bratta's work in White Lion's "When the Children Cry" to name a few.
