I am having a little trouble figuring out how to change my strings on my electric guitar. What I am stumped on is how to get the strings out of the bridge. It's one of those floating bridges, the main use I use it for is a wammy bar. If any of you know how, please let me know in this forum or email me at guitarrock24@yahoo.com. THX :o

If it's a locking tremolo.... like a Floyd Rose style that has a locking nut... it also has screws that you tighten down to clamp onto the strings to keep it in tune.... To get the strings out you need to loosen those scerws as well.

I finally figured out how to change my strings, after almost a year.

They sound a little bit better, but not much. If I still pound on the strings, mainly the 5th and 6th one, it still doesn't sound very clean at all. I'm not sure how to fix this. Please help.

With the Floyd Rose, its harder to set up than a strat style tremelo or a fixed bridge. Is your intonation fairly good? Also, if your "pounding" on the strings, its possible that when you play them, your hitting them hard enough that the trem is pulling tward the bridge or they are hitting the tops of the frets which will cause a buzz, both will make the strings sound detuned. Also, if your pressing too hard on the bridge while palm mutting, that can cause a slight detuning as well.
