Dubbelyoo tee eff, man. In my latest Guitar World, Tom Morello specifically said it would never happen.
Not that I'm upset or anything. Well, I am, but only because California is kinda out of the way for me.

Frankly, I'm dissapointed. I never did like Zack delawhatever. Chris Cornell is such a better singer/songwriter than him that it's not even funny. I prefer the music that audioslave puts out FAR FAR better than 98% of the RATM stuff.

MEEEEE LIKEY!!
Zack may not be a good singer, but what he does, he does very well... and that's EFFING ROCK!
this news makes me happy in the pants. I'd love to be able to see them live again.

Damn man, they're talkin about 1 gig and your hopin on a whole new albulm hahaha. I'd rather have them do a full tour instead of another albulm though.
But that is friggin awosme though, I wish I could go to Cali to see them. A soon to be sold out event indeed.

I semi-agree.
As far as songwriting, Chris Cornell obviously owns. As far as vocals...I don't know. I am literally in love with Chris Cornell, but when Chris sings slower songs (like the majority of Audioslave stuff), his voice gets really drone-y and monotonous and I feel like punching him to make him shut up. He always hits the notes, but he only really sounds good when he's shouting. Zack's voice always sounds cool, because it's so full of rage (presumably against the machine).
And as far as the music of the Morello-Commerford-Wilk trio, I think Rage brought out the best. I like Audioslave a lot too, but Rage was just so much groovier. Audioslave seems kinda dull at times.

Well, I've done it! Got my ticket for Coachella! Cost me an arm and a leg though. But you can't put a price on seeing Rage for one last time!

Out here in Calif. they are talking it up. Many say that the reunion will more likely be a one-off. But sources say this gig is not a one-off and the band has other shows already planned. I'm sure that de la Rocha is stoked, they say he has already shut down his solo career, website and all.
As far as Cornell vs. de la Rocha with vocals, I don't think Cornell could pull off the flow of intensity RATM creates when they're in sync together. They feed off each other.
Just as I think that Cornell's magic was in Soundgarden, being in sync with his food chain.
If someone reading this post happens to become fortunate enough to create magic with another musician(s) and form a band that generates your chemistry as it spreads like wildfire, Do yourself a big favor and practice being neutral, just go with the flow.
So many Band members have dissolved their magical wit through pride, greed and egos when trying to prove they made the band alone.
Look at Axl Rose, I don't care what band he joins or forms, It will never be close to the chemistry that inspired GnR. Neither will Slash for that matter.
Think of all the others that threw their magic away and never got it back again.
Zach de la Rocha has nowhere else to go. Hopefully they can ignite the chemistry again.
