Okay, within the next hour, we need to know two more songs, one fast and one slow, that we can play at this dance we're playing. It has to be rock, preferably something popular so the kids can enjoy it too. So far for covers we're playing Holiday and Aneurysm, so, if you were going to say those..don't. :P

A good slow one that i've been into a lot lately is Soulshine. A real easy acoustic song... and sounds awesome with a simple electric lead... Peep the tab at UG... it's an Allman Brothers song but the Warren Haynes version is the version I normally play. It's not real popular buts a killller tune and it's super easy.

As for a fast song...... I'm not too sure. I try to stay away from the really popular mainstream fast stuff like Green Day, Nirvana...etc... Maybe some Silverchair, Candlebox "Cover Me".... if you only have an hour you might want to stick with something punk like another Nirvana tune like Teen Spirit or Polly is a good one.... Or for another slow one do All Apollogies... that's a kick ass tune. Sorry my brain is locked... it's the end of the work day for me...

As much as I hate the song, Hinder's lips of an angel is very easy to play and is, dare i say "uber" popular with the kiddies. If I were there, I'd punch you for playing it though.

Staying with that horrible band, Get Stoned is a faster rock song that's easy to play and rocks kinda hard.

Otherwise, how about AIC's Rooster for a slower, but still rockin song. It's also easy to play.

Haha, no way in hell are we playing a Hinder song. Rooster...I dunno...doesn't seem like a very dancing song...we could probably play it though...

I've never heard of Soulshine that I know of, nor can I find the mp3...

Aargh, probably too late...

For the fast one... perhaps AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie"? The solo is pretty long, but you could always improvise it because the chord progression is fairly straightforward.
"It's all folk music... I ain't never heard no horse sing!"
- Attributed variously to Leadbelly and Louis Armstrong

If at first you don't succeed, you are obviously not Chuck Norris.

Well we decided on Immortality for the slow one. The fast one is still up in the air, but it might end up being Cemetary (Headstones). Any other suggestions for the fast one? We could still use them.

'All these things I've done' by the killers. Audience will love it.

Dammit by Blink 182. Pretty easy song, the hardest part is fast downstroke palm mutting.
"During this line, the kid acted like he was pushing buttons on a calculator in the air. The kid played ******* air-calculator!"

Okay, so now we're playing Cemetary, but we don't really want to play Holiday anymore. So what would be a good alternative to Holiday?

Well, we might be doing Joker and the Thief, we'll see how that goes. Thanks for all the suggestions so far, and we are still open to them.

It's hilarious that you'd suggest that, because at this dance there's this other 'band' from school playing, and that's one of the only songs they know.

And to think they tried to get us to open for them!

Then play it anyway and pwn them. Or if your opening and play it, they won't have anything else to play.

Ohhh...play "Bro Hymn" by pennywise. Everyone will sing the chorus with you..broo-oooo-oo-ooo brooo-oo-ooo-o-o! THe tune just rocks so hard.
