I think its a great idea! it'd be real cool to get a bunch of folk on here jammin together :)

Hackers usually don't mess with music. Thats why you never see viruses in music on the net.

so how would it work for us? like, we all download it. and then we have to think of one time in which a bunch of us can get together and jam? that'll be weird to do with timezones, etc.

Sounds like they didn't solve it. Instead, they delayed the latency so that it's in beat with the music 4 bars later or something.
The notes you play on your guitar don't come through until 4 bars later.
Which would make for an interesting sound experiment, but I kinda doubt you could you use it for serious jams.

I'm still waiting for real-life jams with video conferencing. Maybe someday, computer speeds will go through the roof and cable hookups get better compression so more data can get through.

Downloading is notorious for unsafe content regardless of moral cleanliness.

Porn is usually actually fairly virus-free. Spyware, on the other hand, is very profitable to distributers.
