Just got "Edge of Thorns" and got back into a Savatage kick. Anyone else love thier kick ass riffage and neoclassical influence as much as me?

Love kiss ass riffage, don't know what neoclassical is exactly :confused: and i'm afraid i never heard of Savatage kick :eek: but glad your lovin it, enjoy :)

I was never much of a Savatage fan - too classically-influenced for my taste, and the singer's voice got on my nerves. However, there's no denying that those dudes can play the hell out of their instruments, especially Al Pitrelli :cool:

Is "Edge of Thorns" their new album?

Hall of the mountain king will always be one of my favorite. Don`t get me wrong the new stuff is musically amazing but something about that old savatage metal days that stuck with me.

Yea i love Savatage, they are one of the most intelligent metal bands ever.

Ah yes songs like the title track, The Price You Pay, and Devastation were some of the first songs I was assigned for exercises by my instructor. Geez that was like a decade ago. I'm glad I found them again.

The stuff with Al Pitrelli is also really good such as Wake of Magellan.
