I finally have a new electric to replace my crummy old strat copy! It's the LTD Eclipse I was talking about in another thread - it's a bit of a toy compared to the axes some of you guys play :o, but I love it to bits!

A review will be forthcoming once I've gotten to know it a bit better, but so far it seems to be perfect!

Nice looking cherry quilt top!!! I like it! I wouldn't call that a toy in any way, shape, or form! I like the black hardware too! I can already envision a thread of you asking for advice of what replacement pickups you should put in it to take it from a mean axe to a killerrrrr axe. haha. Nice purchase bro.

Zoso - nope, they're dot inlays. I'll take a pic of it standing upright ASAP. I can take a close-up pic of the sock baskets if you like, as well :p

Adam - cheers! I actually caught myself thinking about replacement pickups the other day, but so far, the ESP stock pickups aren't too bad. I just wish that the bridge pickup brought out the high-end and the harmonics a teensy bit clearer - Dimebucker, perhaps? ;)

nice geetaar dude! I wouldn't go with a Dimebucker...not my thing at all..bit too harsh for the lies of me...I say play with the stock pups for a while to see if it needs any changing. If so, maybe a Barekncukle? if you can get them where you are, they kill all Duncans and Dimarzio's. If not, a Duncan Jb should be right at home in that axe

I like it! Hows its weight? Is it pretty heavy like other guitars with that body style?

I'd recommend either the Tone Zone or the PAF Pro from the DiMarzio lineup.

It's actually much lighter than a Les Paul or a Yamaha AES. Those two are the only other singlecut electrics I've tried, though, so I don't know how it weighs up next to a PRS Singlecut, for example.

I think those ESPs are cut a little thinner and I think the body countour on the back takes away quite a bit of weight as well...

i like this axe. I think the pickups are based on marzios. what you can try is raising the bridge pickup a little under the top e string ie high e. the one at the bottom when you are playing. may be a quater or hal a turn on the screw should be enough.

Personally i am not a fan of esp ltd axes. I always found the ones i tried fealt and sounded wooden. Or is that my playing??????

But that looks one killer axe.

PRS are good, but way way way overpriced. I tried one at the London Guitar show a couple of years ago and ws very impressed with the quality. A year later i bought a pair of MC2 guitars that sounded a fell a lot better and cost a tenth of the price of one PRS.

Yeah Betsy weighs a ton man. I couldn't imagine having a guitar that was too much heavier than what she is.
