So I recorded my January solo today, uploaded to mp3, burned to cd (this was all done on my laptop), took cd downstairs, ripped music. And the thing skips. Brand spankin new Memorex blank cd's too, straight outa the package. Any idea what is wrong here?

Have you tried burning at a slower speed?
I usually do audio discs at 2X or 4X at the most
