How can you be an Italian citizen if you've never been there? I believe the conscription was thrown out in January of 2005 there.

My grandfather is Italian, he registered my birth when I was born...dunno how he does it, but I got citizenship. yeah, I went to the consulate to get a new passport today (my current one expires in April) and they told me that it was ok...that the conscription is finished...Yay!
