I have been trying out the DOD TEC4 and the DOD G7 Guitar FX processor.
I have made nice sounds from both and they are easy to use. So I am
having some fun. I have a question.
It seems whatever settings I use both units have sustain only for a count to "1000 and three". Then the sound evaporates. What gives? Am I missing something?
There seems no difference in high compression or max reverb or compound distortions or nothing. Notes die too quickly.
I use an old Music Man sixty-five tube amp with 2 12" Vintage 30 Celestian speakers. My guitar is a Mex tele with Muio Grande pickups.
Still the DOD sounds die away?
Yes I get good sounds from my setup. I want to pushbutton additional immediate sounds with good sustain for harmonics. Maybe I should shed the DOD units and look for..... I don't know. Got any ideas besides swallowing myself?
Or, maybe I'm missing something in these units?

Sounds like it's got a noise gate on and set way too high.

Personally, I wouldn't take anything made by DOD even it it were given to me. If you just want effects, take a look at the Boss ME-50. If you want more, take a look at a PODxt Live. I've got the regular PODxt and love it to bits. It can be used in many different ways. It can be used strictly as an effects unit, before or after the amp (in the loop), or it can be used as an amp modeler and/or recording unit.

thanks, let me go fiddle with the gate. If I can't release the control I think I'll go "muff" divin'...haaha.

ok, seems better now that I changed the DOD TEC4 gate action.
The DOD G7 is on the shelf.
I am having good success with a ZOOM 505-II. It has a direct gain that combines with overdrive distortion. This might end up being "the one". Thanks for help.

As long as you're happy with the tones you're getting, that's all that matters... whether it be through a Zoom, or a Line 6... those are just names... what you hear with your own ears is what makes the unit worth it or not.
