I played it yesterday in JB, it's good fun, but I have to say that I'm a little opposed to the idea of it. If it becomes popular enough, it could really cheapen the image of the guitar as a musical instrument. :(

It is pretty fun, I sometimes play it at my friend's house. But than I find myself thinking, why am I not just playing real guitar?

thats EXACTLY what i did for a long time....i remember watching some guys playing "bark at the moon" and totally nailing hte solo, and then sitting there pissed off becuase i could play it on a real guitar practically just as good. haha. but once you get past the fact that the premise that not all guitar hero allstars can handle a guitar, the inhibitions dissapear.

I'm not crazy about the game too much either, just a rock n' roll version on DDR. But it is just a game, so I just let the players have fun. But I think a lot of people will be under the impression that the guitar is simple and that the solo to Hangar 18 can be learned in a couple of hours just like in the game, buy a guitar, then have it sit in their room as a $30 piece of plastic gets all the attention.

I have played the first Guitar Hero...I think it is pretty cool. I would feel guilty spending too much time on that game...knowing I should be practicing real guitar. It's kinda funny to see all these people who are awesome at it and don't play guitar. With all of the effort they put into mastering the game, they could learn the real guitar haha.

no kidding...my thoughts exactly when i walked into a gamestop around the release date. i saw some dude who couldnt even get the guitar strap over his head, and got so sick with rage that i left the store and gouged my eyes out with a screwdriver that happened to be in my left pocket.
