Hello first time poster here
The title of the thread says it all really, apart from the specifics. What effects does david gilmour use on the solo to Time -CD2 of the Pulse Album - Pink Floyd?
Ive got the Boss GT-8 and a range of stomp boxes and i cant quite get it right.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Cheers :D

There's a list of his equipment here:

... but I don't know if that's exactly what he's using on that tour

Hi everyone. First visitor! Very cool site you have here. Gilmour is one of my major influences! On the album, he used that EMS hi-fli fuzz thing, as far as pluse goes, I'm not sure. However, I tried an octavia, lots of volume, and a tube screamer. At that time, someting tells me a tube screamer was in his rig (check gilmourish to confirm). Anyrate, seemed to fit the bill fairly well without taking out a second mortgage.

David Glimour is a genius... and he used effects better than almost anyone beside maybe Jimi Hendrix... A modern day version of him would be Tom Morello...... But anyway... "Time" is a pretty wierd song because each verse is slightly different... He changes his styles slightly... Most of his "tone" comes straight from his fingers though... practice those bends and play with some light strings.... He also uses EMG pickups in his strat... which contributes to his tone quite a bit.
