Howdy. My new dvd came in today. Season 1 of Monty Python's flying circus-includes the Dead parrot, Lumberjack, twit olympics, obvious guy, etc...

w00t. Now I don't have to wait till 11:00 on saturday night to watch it on PBS. Great stuff. Buy it now!!

I dunno why, but Monty Python always puts me to sleep.
I don't mean that in a bad way. It's kinda like the comedy is so well constructed that I just zone out. Almost like listening to a really good Pink Floyd album or something.

Awsome dude. The only reason why I haven't bought any of the shows on dvd is cause they show it on pbs. If they were to stop showing it, I'd probably buy it. You ever watch Britcom night on PBS? Good stuff.

I love Monty Python so ridiculously much. The complete series box set thing has been on my list for ages, but it costs like $18,000.* I almost want to be a rock star just so I can afford things like that.

*Figures subject to exaggeration.

You should get a PVR man. You can probably rent one from your cable company and it's only like 5 or 10 bucks more a month than a regular digital cable box.
You swap out the 80GB HD for a 300GB one (being very careful not to void the warranty) and you can record about 150 shows.
I just set the thing up to record Monty Python on any channel it's broadcast. Same thing with a ton of other shows. By the end of the week I've got about 120 hours worth of stuff stored on it with a couple of pay per view movies to boot. Then ya just pick and choose what you wanna watch.
Best part is, no commercials & ya can record two shows while you're watching another one.
Monty Python's on about 4 different channels here in different time zones so there's usually a couple of episodes sitting in the menu ready to go.
I just erase em when I'm done but you could probably save em to VHS or DVD if there's no copy protection.

Love them too. I bought the box set of all of their tv shows earlier this year at a 1/2 price books for about $60. Well worth the cash. I think that the 'Fish Slap Dance' may be the funniest piece of film ever made and it last all of thirty seconds. I've seen it a hundred times and it still makes me laugh outloud. Brilliant. And I like just about everything that they've done individually too. Terry Jones is a brilliant director, Eric Idle just makes me laugh. Period. John Cleese is a howl in almost everything he does and Michael Palin is, flat out, a comic genius. Long live Graham Chapman too. How great was he in the British army officer uniform telling us 'Stop that. Not funny.'

Egads, they were brilliant.

Im right into most of Terry Gilliam's subsequent films as well. Except that bloody dreadful one about "The Brothers Grim" !!

See what happens when you don't have enough coffee in the morning? I actually meant that I love Terry Gilliam's movies, although I do like Terry Jones as well.

Geez. I gotta start getting more sleep. :o

Yea..I watched more today.
The upper class twit of the year almost made me urinate myself.

I just love how the show seems so random, but alway culminates into one logical show.

It's amazing the amount of titty shots they got away with too.
